Where we start is arbitrary. We could start at the head and work our way down or in the middle and explore out from there. I like to start at the feet since they are our base of support.


So, from the proximal base of the first and fifth metatarsal we travel under the lateral arch via the Fibularis Longus and Brevis. If you are not familiar with these muscles its because they used to be called Peroneus Longus and Brevis. Those who govern medical nomenclature decided Peroneus may be confused with Peroneal. I like it for its simplicity.
