Join us for a 2-hour immersive live-stream dissection webinar exploring the deep anatomical relationships of the pterygoids interface with cranial balance, jaw mechanics, cervical stability, sinus architecture, and sensory structures of the head and neck.
In this innovative, new dissection livestream you will learn the structures inside your head that contribute to the foundation of the cranium, and how the pterygoid muscles may act as the “reset button”. We will explore the connection of how oxytocin & vasopressin have effects on social behaviors (smiling Buddah) and are produced in the hypothalamus and released by the posterior pituitary, and the role of the sella turcica, sphenoid sinus, eustachian tubes, pterygoid muscles.
We will also explore how the eustachian tubes inter act directly with the middle ear which includes the ossicles of the ear.
To yawn is a magical mysterious event, in this live stream we will try to become familiar with the anatomy involved and effected by the act of yawning.
From the Cleveland Clinic. “A fetus starts yawning in the uterus about 12 weeks after conception. A fetus yawns around 25 times per day”. As I said during our in person class a few weeks ago “yawning is the ultimate re-set”.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the structural continuity between the cranial base, mandible, cervical spine, airway, and sensory systems, while considering the potential integrative role of the pterygoid muscles in tension regulation and neuromuscular coordination.
Designed for manual therapists, movement professionals, anatomists, dentists, osteopaths, bodyworkers, and clinicians seeking a deeper three-dimensional understanding of cranial anatomy and function.
The structures we will work with are:
- Longus capitus
- Longus colli
- Odontoid process
- Atlas
- Lateral pterygoid
- Medial pterygoid
- Temporalis
- Masseter
- Nasal septum
- Nasal conchae
- Temporomandibular joint
- Maxillary sinus
- Sphenoid sinus
- Ethmoid sinus
- Sella turcica
- Ossicles of the ear
We will provide an extended 30 days access to the recordings for this special event.
Saturday, May 30, 2026
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
This course will be provided over zoom webinar with multiple camera views, live chat and Q&A. Recordings will be provided via password protected streaming access for a special extension of 30 days. This special dissection livestream format allows us to go more deeply into the relationships and applications to multiple manual and movement modalities, from athletic training to trauma resolution to osteopathy.
