Dynamic Potential – From Ground Up: Unlocking the Lower Body’s Elastic Intelligence

What changes when we stop walking and begin to run?

Dynamic Potential takes the principles of gait, sensory organization, and three-dimensional pelvic movement into the higher forces and greater elastic demands of running and more dynamic movements.

Building upon Longevity in Motion and Pelvis in Motion, this course integrates the pelvis, legs, and feet as an interconnected system designed not only to produce movement, but to absorb, store, transfer, and return energy.

Participants will explore the transition from walking to running through an Anatomy Trains lens, examining how the fascial system contributes to elastic recoil, propulsion, deceleration, and force transmission. This can be translated into other movement activities. We will consider the relationship between foot mechanics, tibial and femoral rotation, pelvic movement, muscular effort, and connective tissue loading and explore how these relationships change as speed and demand increase.

Rather than teaching one “correct” running technique or movement strategy, Dynamic Potential explores the various strategies humans use to manage force. Participants will learn to recognize when movement becomes overly muscular or rigid, where elastic potential may be lost, and how sensory input, manual therapy, and movement can help restore adaptability.

Running becomes our laboratory for understanding something much larger: the body’s capacity to load, recoil, and transform potential energy into movement.
