Join Deb Dana and Melanie Burns in this tour of the polyvagal theory and the rhythm of regulation. Learn to track the states of your own autonomic nervous system experience through your response to cues of safety and cues of danger, & interrupt and re-shape habitual autonomic patterns. Discover how to introduce PVT practices in sessions. Includes real demonstrations. Get beneath symptoms and safely listen to the “story” of your autonomic nervous system, and re-shape your experience toward safety and connection.

About Deb Dana
Deb Dana, LCSW, is a clinician and consultant specializing in working with complex trauma and Coordinator of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium at the Kinsey Institute, Indiana University. She developed the Rhythm of Regulation clinical training series and lectures internationally on ways in which polyvagal theory informs work with trauma survivors.
About Melanie Burns
Melanie Burns is the Chief Executive Officer of Anatomy Trains and Director of Anatomy Trains Europe and UK, with a 20 year career in international business, working with Digital Equipment Corporation, IBM, Microsoft and Cisco. She is a board member of the Ida P. Rolf Research Association and a founding member of the Australia Fascia Symposium.
Melanie has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Clark University, is a Licensed Massage Therapist, and a graduate of the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) program. She has assisted Tom Myers internationally in manual therapy courses, trauma courses, and in several week long cadaver dissection programs. Melanie co-produced Anatomy 101 and Science of Stretch with Yoga Journal, as well as several online programs for Anatomy Trains.
Melanie also owns and operates a 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training School in Maine, teaches courses on the Polyvagal Theory, and is on the faculty of the Liberation Institute, providing yoga teacher training certification programs within the Maine State Prison.
Combining her background in psychology, bodywork, and yoga, her passion is working with the survivors of trauma, as they heroically search for safety.
