Please join us for a 2-day in-person dissection intensive with master dissector Todd Garcia, and Anatomy Trains certified teacher and dissection lab instructor Thadd Dudrey. You will have a unique opportunity to see in the most natural conditions possible what is under your skin. All our work will be with fresh-frozen cadavers – meaning untreated and no chemical smell – providing a much more ‘true-to-life’ view of tissue consistency and coloring. Untreated tissue has the same color and texture, and moves through a similar range of motion as the living body, and offers a very different perception of the relationships, movement potential, and behavior of fascial tissues. You will meet students from all around the world and from all points-of-view within the manual, movement and medical professions to explore the complexity of the actual human form. This in person experience will be limited to 20 students, with multiple camera views on LCD displays.
Day 1: 8:00 AM -12:00 PM
Master Dissector Todd Garcia will position the donor seated, to demonstrate a clear dissection of the trapezius, rhomboids, latissimus dorsi, serratus posterior superior and inferior, erector spinae, and suboccipitals, before turning the donor supine for a layered dissection of the abdominals and a unique view of the illiopsoas.
Day 2: 8:00 AM -12:00 PM
Master Dissector Todd Garcia will dissect the anterior neck, including the platysma, sternocleidomastoid, neurovascular bundle of carotid artery, vagus nerve and jugular vein, anterior scalene and phrenic nerve, omohyoid, before carefully exposing the brain and revealing the cranial nerves. Todd will also be dissecting the gluteus maximus, medius, minimus, deep lateral rotators, and hamstrings.
