Session 2 Description

Under-standing: Foot and Ankle Dynamics, Common Injuries, Diagnosis, Treatment options, from Therapy to Surgery Live Online with Tom Myers, Dr. Maybelle Maningat and Garrett Rumsby, DPT

Human gait is not recreated anywhere in the animal world.  Explore the unique dynamics of the 26 bones and multiple joints designed the cushion the downward pressure from our body above while propelling us forward very precisely.  Key to foot dynamics is the talus, the ‘bone in a cage’.  The ankle’s combination hinge and multiplanar movement gives us unique rotational capabilities – and also predisposes us to injury when the forces become too great.  After reviewing the foot’s anatomy and movements in the dynamics of gait, this packed 2-hour webinar reviews new surgical methods and rehabilitation protocols.
