Manual Neurovascular Release (NVR) Part 3: Lower Extremities
with Kieran Schumaker
In Manual NVR Part 3, we will continue working strategically with the neurovascular network to improve structural balance, support, and range of movement throughout the body. We will focus on the lower extremities, assessing lower body patterns and developing a detailed understanding of the anatomy and function of the lower legs and feet. We will consider balance in the arches of the feet, mid-foot stiffness, bunions, plantar fasciitis, knee issues, and how to help people adapt to minimal shoes.
In this course, you can expect to experience improved one-legged balance and foot articulation, and you will be ready to provide this for your clients. You will also have a greater experiential understanding of how our work in the core of the torso is helpful for leg and foot symptoms. We will revisit the hamstrings and quads to explore how these affect tibial rotation and patellar tracking, and we will look at the neural and vascular contribution to the spiral patterns that wind down through the lower limb.
As needed, we will review concepts and techniques from Manual NVR Parts 1 and 2 to help us integrate the lower leg work and provide balance within the body.
Prerequisites: Manual NVR Parts 1 and 2 (in-person or online) or the equivalent two nerve and artery courses taught by Kier before 2019 (two 21-hour courses).
Support throughout this course and in the months following:
Tuition includes small group and private mentoring and ongoing opportunities for review in addition to the regular class hours. To support multiple learning styles, you will have:
- Early and ongoing access to online videos documenting all the techniques and lessons from your live course. These are edited to help you locate specific techniques.
- Fifteen-minute mentoring sessions via Zoom, each focused on one client case, scheduled as needed throughout the year after your course has been completed.
- Subscription to the NVR Community Seminar Series — a series of live discussions scheduled approximately eight times per year with a choice of two different session times to accommodate your schedule. Sessions are recorded in case you can’t attend live.
