This training is designed for therapists who wish to learn cranial work, which can effectively influence its shape and correct existing asymmetries.
Through gentle and precise rotational and balancing movements, the therapist induces changes in tension within individual layers of fascia. These changes affect the relationships between bone elements as well as their internal stresses and deformations.
Ida Rolf worked on the cranium during one of the Structural Integration sessions alongside Sharon Wheeler, her direct student. Sharon developed this approach further, focusing on gently reshaping cranial asymmetries in children. The seventh session is a central element of the ten-session Structural Integration process.
The core session framework originates from Dr. Rolf, with several fascinating bone-altering techniques specifically for the cranium developed by Sharon. These bone-modifying techniques are direct, and you can expect significant structural changes from them.
Participants will take part in supervised sessions and have the opportunity to work with an external model.
During the training, you will learn:
- Detailed anatomy of the area – Short, intensive presentations offering an intriguing look at anatomical structures, supported by dissection videos and palpatory anatomy, presented in an engaging and comprehensible way.
- Postural analysis – Gain insights into common movement and postural consequences; learn how to observe and interpret intricate patterns.
- Myofascial release techniques – Each technique is demonstrated with clarity and precision, ensuring participants can confidently apply them in their daily therapeutic practice right after the training.
The training includes:
- Information on the knowledge sources that form the basis of the training.
- A theoretical component with visual aids and detailed explanations.
- Hands-on practice with an external model using the techniques learned.
- Discussions and opportunities to share observations and best practices.
- Practical exercises to test and refine your skills.
- Recommendations and guidance for continued self-education after the training.
