Session 1 Description:
Heel to Hip: Achilles and Hamstring Complex Common Injuries, Diagnosis and Treatment Options Live Online with Tom Myers, Dr. Mark Harrington and Alex Leto, DPT
Because standing and walking both require significant tone in the posterior chain (for us, Superficial Back Line), tearing injuries in this complex tend to persist, often resulting in postural and functional compensation. This webinar focuses on the singular myofascial strap that runs from the toes with the plantar aponeurosis up the ischium and beyond into the erector muscles. But don’t let the simplicity of the connections fool you: Skeletally, small deviations in the heel position, knee angle, and characteristic hip posture can all predispose for injury when subject to high loads or speeds. Muscularly, we explore the complexity of the apparently simple hamstrings and gastrocnemeus complex through diagram and fascial dissection.
In the second part of this packed 2-hour webinar, we will discuss modern advances in imagery, diagnosis, and treatment, both surgical and manual / movement rehab for this common area for injury.
You will have access to the recording of this session for 45 days after it ends!
