Part 1: Plantar Fascia with Tom Myers, Dr. Michael Thomas, and Tom Corbisiero, DPT
Lecture from Dr. Michael Thomas:
Understanding the plantar fascia is essential for professionals who work with clients experiencing foot pain, impaired mobility, or overuse injuries. This presentation will equip physical therapists, manual therapists, personal trainers, and coaches with the knowledge to identify early signs of plantar fasciitis, understand its biomechanical causes, and apply effective conservative treatments. Attendees will learn how early intervention can prevent chronic pain and traumatic rupture, helping clients stay active and pain-free.
Practical application from Tom Corbisiero, DPT:
Plantar fascia dysfunctions—ranging from plantar fasciitis to chronic inflammation and even traumatic ruptures—are a leading cause of foot pain and movement limitations in active individuals. In this engaging presentation, we’ll explore the full spectrum of plantar fascia conditions, examining the underlying physiology, biomechanical stressors, and common mechanisms of injury that impact performance and recovery. Designed for manual therapists, personal trainers, coaches, fitness professionals, and physical therapists, this session covers advanced treatment approaches like shockwave, laser, and instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques, along with targeted exercise interventions to restore mobility, improve load tolerance, and prevent recurrence—empowering you to keep your clients strong, pain-free, and on the move.
Part 2: The IT Band with Tom Myers, Srino Bharam, MD, MBA, and Alex Leto, DPT takes place Sunday, July 27, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT.
