Finding ‘Home’ – A Guide to Functional Neutral
With all the noise out there about pelvic neutral and core strength, how do we engage these concepts with our clients and students? This course is full of practical exercises for helping each individual find their postural ‘home’ – not only in the pelvis and spine, but in their feet, knees, and hips, for their breath and functional shoulder movement, and the neck, jaw, and head – and there is no ‘one she fits all’. It goes beyond the biomechanics to the ‘neuromechanics’ of a balanced and responsive autonomic nervous system – turning ‘fight, flight, and freeze’ into social engagement and successful outcomes.
Take a journey through the body in terms of the Anatomy Trains myofascial meridians, and how to balance them so that people can find their home in their body after travel, in advance or after stressful situations, or just after a day’s work and commute. This course includes exercises drawn from Feldenkrais and martial arts for making movement more efficient and graceful.
Learn reliable cueing options for changing postural and movement patterns. Learn calming and integrating exercises for both you and your students and clients. Empower yourself to make deep changes in how people feel.
This course is intended for movement practitioners, yoga and Pilates teachers, personal trainers, somatic practitioners, and manual therapists with an interest in movement.
