Michael Torrant is an experienced yoga teacher, licensed massage therapist and ATSI Practitioner who was born and raised in Litchfield, Connecticut. His yoga home teaching studios are West Hartford Yoga and Charym Yoga where he enjoys teaching a variety of classes each week. He also teaches within the University of Connecticut (UCONN) Athletic Department as well as Trinity College, providing ongoing classes to various sports teams. Michael has extensive knowledge in anatomy and physiology due to his ongoing yogic studies, pragmatic experience with clients, and prior occupation in the medical industry where he spent countless hours in operating rooms observing the human body. He holds a degree in Political Science from Colgate University and is committed to higher learning as an ongoing process. Michael is a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT #10247) and ATSI Practitioner and currently is seeing clients at the Prima space in Litchfield as well as concierge and offers a wide range of therapeutic treatments. He is trained in Structural Integration, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, and Acupressure. Michael’s philosophy as a provider is to offer a safe and supportive environment where mind-body-spirit healing can take place. Michael specializes in Katonah Yoga and has embarked upon in depth study with luminary Nevine Michaan at Katonah Yoga in Bedford, NY, nearing completion of his advanced certification in this realm. He serves as a mentor teacher for many teachers and students alike and is passionate about helping others advance their practice. Through the vehicles of yoga and bodywork, Michael enjoys helping men and women of all ages breakthrough limitations, injuries, and blockages through movement and somatic awareness.
