Mi Zheng

Beijing, China

Mizheng, living in Beijing, China, a Pilates instructor and also a trainer for Pilates teachers. He has been teaching Pilates since 2015 and has his own understanding of Pilates teaching. He believes that Pilates is not a metabolic training but rather focuses on the transformation of neuromuscular control methods and the awakening of proprioception. He holds that the goal of Pilates is to make a person’s body smarter, rather than more muscular or lean. Mizheng’s journey in structural integration began in 2016. He is very fond of the concept of structural integration, “giving the body more choices rather than forcing it to change.” He considers structural integration as a “conversation,” a dialogue between the therapist’s hands and the client’s nervous system. He greatly admires his structural integration teacher, Don Thompson, and is striving to align his abilities and style with his teacher. He hopes to help more people find their true selves that are unrestrained and unyielding through structural integration.
