I am a teacher and therapist with 31 years of experience facilitating the personal growth and development of individuals through body oriented approaches to therapy and education. At the heart of my work is a deep appreciation for the life of the body and the wisdom of the organism, and the value of mindfulness and sensory awareness in our functioning. I have a BFA in Dance from Ohio University and a MA in Movement Therapy from the Goddard Graduate Program. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Board Certified (IASI) Structural Integration practitioner. In addition to my study with Tom Myers and the KMI/ATSI program, I have also completed a Cranial Sacral Therapy Certification through the Rolf Institute with Jim Asher. I have been a part of an on-going study group with Robert Kest, PhD, a student of Charlotte Selver, focusing on the bio-psychological foundations of structure and movement. I have taught the high school and college level, and have worked as a movement therapist, massage therapist and structural integrator in private practice and in hospital settings. I maintain a private practice in Portland, Maine, and am on staff at the Dempsey Center for Quality Cancer Care in Lewiston, Maine where I work as an Oncology Massage Therapist.
