Born in Israel and living in Massachusetts since childhood, Eli followed his father’s footsteps and studied computer science and mechanical engineering. After a chance exposure to Therapeutic Massage, a love for bodywork was ignited.
He completed his Massage training in 1999 and became certified in KMI Structural Integration in 2002. “I am regularly awed by the power of this work to transcend not only our physical limitations but also our ingrained psychosocial habits and attitudes. It is such a rewarding experience to witness my clients grow into themselves in this deeper sense.”
Eli became a Certified Teacher of Kinesis in 2005. He now travels the US teaching 2-4 day weekend workshops. These classes are intensives, designed to deepen our understanding of the body and improve our ability to unwinding long held patterns.
With his background in martial arts and Engineering, Eli brings a deeper understanding of both the experience and the science of biomechanics to his work and teaching. He has published several articles and runs a second business called BenchWorks, supplying Structural Integration Benches and Tensegri-Teach models of his design (www.EliThompson.com, www.Tensegri-Teach.com).
Eli currently practices in Brookline, MA where he lives with his wife and three children.
