I have been working as a Physiotherapist since 2011. In search of further specialization and a more holistic approach to my profession, I started specializing in the therapeutic effects of yoga and meditation in 2015 and combining this with Physiotherapy.
During extensive travels between 2015 and 2020, I studied and taught in teacher training around yoga and anatomy. Through my interest in Yin Yoga and the fascial system, I arrived on the Anatomy Trains path, where I started my studies with Karin Gurtner in Slings Myofascial Training and continued on the manual path of Anatomy Trains Structural Integration in Fremantle, Australia, with Julie Hammond.
Since 2011 I have worked in multidisciplinary health centres and sports physiotherapy clinics. I love working with other specialists, doctors and physiotherapists to collaborate and provide optimal healthcare. In 2020 I started my own practice PHYSI.YOGA in The Hague, where I offer Structural Integration 12-series work, physiotherapy, ScarWork Therapy, and movement education (yoga, Slings Myofascial Training and self-myofascial release).
My specialization is working with clients with chronic pain, frozen shoulder and other shoulder problems and ScarWork Therapy.
I enjoy working with a client towards their goal(s), and I aim to build a series around these goals, together. I am curious; how does it feel to be you? How are you hoping I can help you, and why is this important to you? When all therapeutic interventions are a conversation between two intelligent systems, how does my touch (and possibly combined with your movement) inform you? Are you aware of your patterns, and can we find ways to break possible habitual patterns?
I love studying and the continuous deepening of knowledge in my free time, and I’m excited about sharing as a teacher and a teacher assistant.
My curiosity lies in how this amazing work influences our nervous system. How do we experience ourselves, and how do we feel about this? How does this influence how we carry ourselves?
I look forward to working with you. Feel free to reach out to me!
