We are all familiar with the medicine of chemicals, and the medicine of psychiatry, but there is a 3rd kind of medicine – how we keep it together as an organism and move through space. From womb to tomb, our posture and movement – even the very simple acts like breathing and sitting and walking and standing – can bring us toward health or away from it.

In this evening lecture of pertinent information explained in an impertinent manner, we explore the domain of movement and use simple demonstrations and experiments to expose myths of exercise, the mechanics of body pain, the physical basis of ‘trauma’, the power of breath, and point to simple ways in which we can improve the ‘standing’ of ourselves, our children, students, and clients.

This evening is open to anyone with a body, and is especially aimed at bodyworkers.
