The pelvis is the seat of our power – the powerhouse, the hara, the big muscles of motivation – but it is also the seat of our genital ‘fruit’ – our most vulnerable, delicate tissues that need to feel safe to bloom. Getting the balance right between power and safety in the pelvis is something our society is notoriously bad at. Most people – men and women alike – come to us with a ‘fist’ of tension in the pelvis – it can come from many sources – often protecting the front or the back or both. How can we open the pelvis, release its power, but retain the sensitivity good intuition requires?
Use Tom’s 50 years of experience to navigate the deep structures of the pelvis with confidence and awareness. Our goal is to unravel the fist of tension – the ‘hip grip’ – toward a dynamic stability between legs and spine, easily adaptable.
This course does not include internal work, but does include techniques for all the muscles close to the groin – the adductors, deep lateral rotators, the pelvic floor, and the psoas complex. Please be prepared and aware that we will be working with these areas throughout. Emotions are allowed, and so are practical applications to build emotional, physical, and physiological resilience in our spine’s foundation – the hips.
