Join the most senior Pilates elder Mary Bowen and Anatomy Trains creator Tom Myers for a collaborative journey into the soul of the body. Mary has extended her 58 years with Joe’s method and 42 years of teaching into Jung’s world of the unconscious archetypes – Pilates Plus Psyche. Tom has practiced transformational bodywork for over 40 years, feeling within the body to melt the blocks that keep us from expressing ourselves fully.
Together they extend your awareness into the deeper parts of your bodymind. This is not a manual therapy course, although touching sensitively is part of the exploration. We will not use Pilates equipment, but Pilates will be present. Come with an open mind and prepared to move.
Learn to:
– see the psyche in body shape (bodyreading)
– shape the psyche in movement
– feel the movements in the tissue
– connect with your own journey toward full self-expression
Mary Bowen studies two fields continually: the body through Joe Pilates, working with him for more than six years, and continuing after his death for over 50 years with a range of master teachers. She has taught Pilates herself for 42 years. At the same time she journeys into the “Self” through Jungian analytical psychology, practicing as a Jungian analyst for 47 years. Mary combines the two fields to work with individuals and groups in PILATES PLUS PSYCHE.
