June 22-25, 2012
September 21-24, 2012
October 26-29, 2012
November 15-19, 2012

Course Objectives

  • "Fascial Fitness" - Research is clear on ways to build fascial fitness. Fitness has long focused on muscle strength, and more recently on neuromuscular coordination, but specific ways of exercising and stretching have been shown to build fascial health. Most 'muscle' injuries are actually fascial injuries. Learn simple ways to supplement exercise routine to coordinate fascial fitness with your current work.
  • Expand your skillful touch awareness to awaken “amnesiac” areas of the body, help people find their missing bits, build alignment, deepen stretches, change perception, and coordinate movement
  • Learn to use the Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians map for movement and stability analysis and to see the body-wide connections and patterns

The Faculty

Simone Lindner is a licensed Massage Therapist as well as an Advanced Practitioner of KMI. Passionate about bodywork from a young age, Simone draws from her love of anatomy and movement (running, dancing, diving and Yoga), as well as her connection to the ocean and being a mother. She left Germany in her early 20s to live in several different cultures, refining her bodywork abilities, and certifying at “Educating Hands” in Miami, FL. In 2001, she obtained her certification as a KMI Practitioner with Tom Myers.

Thomas Myers (Guest Faculty) studied directly with Ida Rolf, Moshe Feldenkrais, and Buckminster Fuller, and has practiced integrative bodywork for over 30 years in a variety of clinical and cultural settings. He incorporates many movement and manual disciplines into his practice and teaching. Tom is the author of the best-selling Anatomy Trains (Elsevier 2001, 2009), as well as numerous articles and video programs on fascial technique and dissection. He currently directs Kinesis, which offers professional and CE training worldwide. Tom lives with his wife Quan, on the coast of Maine, and retains a strong interest in peri-natal issues, sailing, and music.

Eli Thompson has been practicing massage therapy since 1999 and KMI Structural Integration since 2003. In 2005, he became a Certified Teacher of Kinesis. With a background in mechanical engineering, a history of Martial Arts, and a family of five, Eli is effectively able to weave complex scientific theories into the constant movement and humanity of life. He finds satisfaction in conveying to his students “the seamless wonder of our bodies, our minds, and our experience of life itself”.
