The Female Pelvis

with Pilar Martin and Tom Myers
July 12-14

The female pelvis is the font of all creation - and little thanks it gets! Improve your skills in dealing with women in the childbearing arc. In this workshop, Tom and Pilar will focus on preparing for pregnancy, preparing for birth, and post-natal restoration of stability and integration. Much applies to male pelves as well, but this course explores the unique character of the feminine journey.

Polyvagal Theory in NeuroMyofascial Release

with Stanley Rosenberg
July 17-18

Gain a new understanding of the autonomic nervous system and its relevance to deep bodywork. Most of us learned the fight-or-flight / repose-and-repair “see-saw”, but this course allows you to recognize alternative states for the nervous system of your clients, and how to work with your hands to resolve and turn such states into a positive “social engagement”.

Face Work

with Stanley Rosenberg
July 19-20

Widen your smile! The face - a potent link to emotions and all the bodily systems - gets short shrift in our basic training.  This course deepens your 'bag of tricks' in terms of the jaw and head tension, as well as connecting the face to the other 'lines' and other systems of the body in this crucial somatic link to social engagement.

Working with Children

with Jim Asher
July 21-23

To do bodywork successfully with children requires sensitive touch and alert awareness.  Learning to work with children is a good skill to have, as it reflects back to working with everyone who has an 'inner child' (that would be you and me).  This class will include models of all ages, and there is space for you to bring young clients if you wish.

Note: This class is approved for IASI Category I credits and is therefore only open to members of IASI.

The Thorax

Reach 'in' with sensitivity and depth! Relieving strain in the thorax often unwinds patterns in the leg and foot. Examine and treat musculoskeletal and visceral layers in the thorax. This will work out from the thorax to the shoulders and arms and see how these deep thoracic patterns reflect in the lower limb.
