Ron Floyd

Ron is a passionate student and practitioner of bodywork. He has worked in health care for more than 30 years, first as a nurse, then studying massage therapy at the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in San Diego, CA, where he focused on Structural Integration.

After graduating from IPSB, he co-­founded the Big Sky Somatic Institute. In 1994 he earned the American Massage Therapy Association, Montana Chapter’s Meritorious Award.

He relocated to Ithaca, NY in 2006. There, Ron furthered his studies in Structural Integration as well as worked and taught with Tom Myers of Kinesis. Along with his private practice in Ithaca, Ron developed and teaches the “Users Guide to Your Body” course. In his classes, he brings an excitement and sense of humor that has delighted hundreds of students.

Ron combines a gentle touch with a fierce exploratory spirit. In his integrated approach to bodywork, he has the tools and experience to treat the whole person. His work is uniquely effective.

Ron is a licensed massage therapist, and is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider through the Center for Bodywork Education, which he also co-­founded. He is now back in Helena, and lives with his wife Deborah and their dog Toby.
