Jim Asher started helping Dr. Ida P. Rolf with children
in class in 1971. He took advanced classes with Dr. Rolf in 1973 and then began assisting her teaching in October 1973. In 1974 he became one of her instructors. Ida certified five teachers and Jim was blessed to be one of them. Dr. Rolf sent Jim to Los Angeles to help with the Cerebral Palsy research project in 1975. Jim was able to continue assisting Dr. Rolf in classes and would go to her home to help with babies or kids with problems.
Jim Asher has taught classes in this specialty in Japan, Italy and Switzerland and the planet Boulder. He says, "I can't imagine a life without working with babies. I am excited to have the opportunity of teaching this upcoming class with Tom Myers."
What to expect in class
"In this class we will cover a checklist of problems to look for and strategies and techniques specific for babies, and kids. The class will include class discussions and demonstrations working to improve function and structure and "well-being". Some topics included are flat feet, club feet, gait, tracking, scoliosis, the cranium and how to do a series.
