Hormones and Connective Tissue Health

I wanted to report that I personally have experienced the connection between hormones and connective tissue health.  I now know that my hormone imbalance caused my over the top inflammation around my osteoarthritic knees.   It seems to me that my hormone imbalance came first.  It caused the thickening in my connective tissue.  The thickening caused my structural misalignment. I am guessing that my exercise routines were building connective tissue because I lacked the hormone to build muscle.  So it was an unwinding process over the last 15-20 years that cured my arthritis.  I say CURED! because now with the bio-identical hormones my inflammation is zero, stiffness is nonexistent, and I am getting the range of motion back in my knees.

It has been a long process.  I changed my diet, life style, exercise routine, and most recently and most profoundly changed my structural alignment (big thanks to all involved).  Now the last piece of the puzzle (never thought I would say last) is bio-identical hormone balancing.  I would not have gotten to this place where my body has cured my arthritis without all the hands out there.  Hormone balancing without structural balancing would have gotten better but would not have been the cure that I was looking for.

I wanted to share my good news and also ask if anyone else has any experience with hormones and connective tissue?

Re: Hormones and Connective Tissue Health

Hey Shiela,

I for one am jumping for joy for you - this is such an amazing testiment to your committement to growth and overcoming the arthritis.

The only experience i have with hormones and inflamation is with menstration (they go hand in hand with inflammation traveling along the lines of connective tissue.  Hormones and some skin conditions also sinc with menstration cycles.

Cheers to your success!
Carrie
