<description>On the one hand, it&#039;s a bit like working with your mittens on. so there is an argument for waiting. On the other hand, being more in touch with yourself will allow you to lose the weight more easily, and help you find the person below the adipose, so there is an argument for getting started. Maybe a bit of both - do 3 sessions now, and then do the rest (which are more core sessions) after you have lost a bit more weight.

On balance, I think start nowish.

		<description>Hi, Tom,

I live in Victoria, BC, and am considering seeing a Rolfer. My question: I am more than 100 pounds overweight and am wondering if a practitioner can do effective work when so much flesh lies between the hands and the fascia. I have lost 40 pounds the past year, and expect to lose more over time. Should I wait till there&#039;s less surplus fat on my body or are there benefits in starting immediately?

Thanks for any help you can give.
