Deane Juhan, LMT

Deane Juhan spent many of his early years at the early years Esalen, drinking in the rich brew of experiential and experimental methods that passed through that node of American alternative culture. Then, medieval scholar that he essentially is, he hit the books, looking for the rationale for what he had felt with bodywork and body movement - especially under the hands of his mentor and friend, Dr. Milton Trager.

The result was Job's Body, a handbook for bodyworkers that is at once earthy and erudite, focused yet comprehensive, brilliantly researched and beautifully written.
